What happened to the purple crayon?

In December 2006 I purchased "Crayola So Big washable crayons". The picture on the box shows purple but inside there was pink instead! Yesterday I purchased some Crayola bathtub crayons and once again there was pink instead of purple. Has pink replaced purple in all the 8 crayon sets or just certain sets? I can't seem to find any information about this on crayola's website or online in general. Has anyone else noticed this? I'm really curious to see what you come up with!
