What color is best for white human skin?

I am a novice drawer and am finally attempting to draw realistically instead of Simpson's-esque cartoons. There is one problem though, I have no clue what color to use for white skin. It's not like I can use that terrible Crayola color called "Tan" or something along those lines. Now I know Caucasian skin color varies based on UV lighting but does anybody know the best medium colors. I don't want a Snooki tan and I don't want a pure white color. Many thanks!
