Will washable markers come off of the tips of my converse if I spray it with latex enamel spray?

Like i tried sharpies on the tips of my converse but they strangely dry out. I colored the tips of the shoes with washable crayola markers instead cuz they seemed to be the only things that stayed. I bought this spray that like called a "clear latex enamel"....if i spray that on will it prevent the colors from washing off as much?
