First time taking Ambien 5 mg but only got 6 hrs of snooze?

My doctor prescribed to me Ambien 5 mg which is supposed to give me 8-9 hours. I only got 6 hours of sleep and it took at least an hour and a half before I slept. Should I up it up to 10 mg?
