Is this a safe dosage?

A couple of months ago my psychiatrist prescribed me Seroquel XR 50 mg once daily (a few hours before bedtime) . It works great for me but I am concerned that this is not a good long term dose. I read somewhere that this is just a starting dose and that it should be raised. So, is there any complications associated with this low dose? Thank you!
